The event will take place in the beautiful city of Charleston, South Carolina. Rich in history, a wonderful food scene, and surrounded by enchanting nature, Charleston captured our hearts when we first visited during a summer road trip.
On this trip, we spontaneously booked a stay at The Inn at Middleton Place, knowing nothing about it at the time. We arrived at night and had no idea of the glory that we drove into.
The next day, we explored and learned about Middleton Place, a National Historic Landmark and non-for-profit educational trust with the oldest landscaped gardens in America. The gardens, buildings, and active barnyard encapsulate a different era, preserving a slice of history.
With incredible architecture surrounded by ancient oaks, spanish moss, and the glistening Ashley river, we spent the day wandering the grounds of this incredible place. Now, we want to bring our cherished friends and family together to celebrate and share the magic we experienced there.
Food
The Middleton Place Restaurant is a wonderful establishment on the property that features seasonal, low-country fare. It is within walking distance from the Inn through a lighted forest trail. All proceeds from the Middleton Place Restaurant support the mission of the Middleton Place Foundation.
Lunch is served from 11am – 3pm Monday – Saturday. Sunday Brunch is served from 11am – 4 pm. Dinner is served from 5 – 8:30 pm Tuesday – Saturday and reservations are required.
The Garden Market, located in the Middleton Place gardens, offers a BBQ lunch menu Tuesday – Saturday from 11am – 3pm.
There is a daily, complimentary breakfast buffet in the Inn's Lakehouse included with your stay at the Inn.
Doordash / Uber Eats can be delivered to the Inn. They are typically dropped off at the main reception.
Downtown Charleston boasts a wonderful food scene. We loved Chubby Fish. Note they do not take reservations. Part of the experience is waiting to get into this desirable spot.

Activities
The Inn offers many activities that the staff or our wedding planner, Sheri, could help coordinate. There are also many wonderful things to do in the greater Charleston area.
Pool
The Inn at Middleton Place has a swimming pool with lounge chairs next to the river. Enjoy the view surrounded by trees.
Kayaking / Horseback riding
There are several outdoor tours offered by the Inn. These include kayaking in the Ashley River, nature walks, and horseback riding.
Middleton Place
Exploring the gardens is definitely a must do. Your accommodation reservation includes daily access, and you can walk there right from the Inn. Inquire about getting a picnic basket from the Middleton Place Restaurant to enjoy lunch in the gardens. Guided tours are also available.
